With a focus on gold-copper and lead-zinc rich deposits, Lachlan Star are targeting a region rich in polymetallic resources. Major deposits within the area display a strong association between mineralisation and major fault architecture, with Lachlan Star holding a key land position along strike of the CSA Mine and Elura (Endeavor) deposits.
The region has also see an increase in mining and exploration activity, with the potential of this district underscored by Metals Acquisition Limited’s (ASX: MAC) substantial acquisition of CSA Mine from Glencore for AUD$1.64 billion in June 2023.
Key highlights of the project:
- underexplored greenfields opportunity, with limited past exploration and drill coverage
- along strike of CSA Mine and the northern continuity of the Rookery Fault corridor
- basin margin faults trend into project area and are prospective for mineralisation
- major structural intersection of the Buckwaroon Fault and Rookery Fault corridor
- contains same host rock packages as other major deposits within the region
